Hotspot Survey

Apart from Fung Yuen Butterfly Reserve, there are still over 200 different butterfly species distributed in different places in Hong Kong. Some locations even have a very high diversity of butterfly species. Butterflies are very sensitive to changes in their environment. Therefore, butterfly diversity is an important indicator of environmental quality.

Our butterfly hotspot survey team will regularly visit different butterfly hotspots to record the species and numbers of butterflies in order to monitor the ecological quality of Hong Kong.
